Roommate Obsession
I have never met either of my roommates for this coming year and I am very nervous moving about in with strangers. I've had bad luck in the past and although Becca is optimistic and says that the good news is that I have already roomed with all the crazy people at BYU so I can now look forward to living with normal people. I however feel that BYU has an endless supply of crazy people for me to have to live with. This is what I know so far about my roommates.... my landlord said that one of them is French and she has lived in the US for four years and has already graduated from LDSBC and now goes to BYU and is a seamstress. I told this to my friends boyfriend who from the small amount of info I know deduced that he knows her and he says she's a very sweet girl. I was venting to Paul about the possible catastrophe of my unknown roommates and I said...."she's French so you know what that means!" Paul looked at me confused and trying to understand what I meant by that and he responded hesitantly, "she's going to surrender to you?" I laughed for probably a good five min about that. It'll actually be fun having a French roommate since so many of my friends speak French and just make fun of my French accent so this could be good for getting rid of my Russian accent when I speak French. The other roommate is more of a question. All I know is that a guy was emailing the landlord a lot for his daughter. This could mean one of three things. 1- She's eighteen and has never found housing before so her Dad is doing it for her. No offense to eighteen year olds but I have to babysit them at work all the time I don't want to live with one. 2- She is a Daddy's girl and he does everything for her including finding her housing. 3- She can't find her own housing because she's on a mission and doesn't get back to right before so needed someone else to find housing, and I am also not so sure living with a fresh RM would be enjoyable. I'm lucky enough to have family that bring me back down from ranting on about my paranoia. They made me realize that there is no point in finding imaginary things about my roommates before I even meet them. What they don't understand is that the small amounts of info I have present hours of endless worrying I can do. I am a worrier what can I say. I'm working on it and am trying to focus on not obsessing about who my roommates might be. In fact, now that I've posted this....I will most likely be the crazy one of out the three of us!
